Representative Ed Markey (D-MA), speaking at the Energy and Commerce Committee Hearing two weeks ago, uses some sardonic humor to point out the dreadful, cynical attack on science that the Upton-Inhofe bill represents.

I rise in opposition to a bill that overturns the scientific finding that pollution is harming our people and our planet.

However, I won't physically rise, because I'm worried that Republicans will overturn the law of gravity, sending us floating about the room.

His entire statement goes on like this. You might remember that the Upton-Inhofe bill, aka, "The Energy Tax Prevention Act" is trying to legislate away the scientific consensus on climate change.
