During the political debate over the health care reform bill, opponents of the legislation kept claiming that it was being rammed through against the will of the American people. And it is true that a few weeks ago more Americans were opponents of the bill than supporters.
But now a plurality of adults think its passage was a good thing:
I think there are two things going on here. First, in the pre-passage polling, many people probably said they opposed the bill because they wanted it to be better, even though they preferred flawed reform to the status quo. And second, there's a Y2K effect here, where it all looks less scary in retrospect because the world is still spinning on its axis.
