In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, it became obvious that America was frustratingly ill-prepared to house people displaced by a natural disaster. Michael McDaniel took this as a design challenge. His Exo housing system—inspired by the humble styrofoam cup—could be deployed quickly and cheaply to help us when we need it most.

This is really amazing and so worth while, im so glad that this was come up with! Michael McDaniel is truly amazing to me.
A great idea! Another challenge still remains housing for homeless people. Maybe someone will see that as a architectural/design challenge and come up with a similar flexible solution that is feasible for organizations to deploy in the city.
