Apparently there's been a serious rise in the number of calls to Poison Control for side effects suffered by young people who've been abusing cough syrup. The reason for the abuse...no, not a resurgence in Tuberculosis. It seems that Robitussin (and other cough syrups containing dextromethorphan) can make you hallucinate. In all honesty, we'd heard of people doing this before; still, we have to ask, what ever happened to licking toads?
