It's the Superbus, a 23-passenger all-electric bus with an electronically limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. Do we have any use for it?
It's the Superbus, a 23-passenger all-electric bus with an electronically limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. It looks sort of like a stretched Bugatti Veyron. It was developed by Wubbo Ockels, former astronaut and current professor of aerospace engineering at the Delft University of Technology. In action:

As some commenters have noted, it's hard to imagine this bus navigating city traffic. That's certainly true. But if this whole high-speed rail thing falls through, I'd pay top dollar to take the Superbus between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and it could probably handle Interstate 5 without any problems.
