The Carbon Atlas

The Guardian has a very attractive interactive infographic that compares the carbon emissions of countries around the globe and shows how they’ve changed since 1996.
Europe’s carbon emissions only grew by 5% between 1996-2006. In Asia (read: China) the rate was a whopping 64%.
It’d be nice to see emissions per capita or emissions relative to a country’s HDI, but the piece is enormously valuable as is.
Thanks, Josh.

You can see emissions per capita and relative to HDI at graphs.gapminder.org/world. Set one axis to C02, and the other to any number of HDI indicators.
Excellent info-graphic. Great interactivity and very informative. Love the relative statistics it shows for the data collected in 2005 versus 2006.
