In honor of Argentina's decision to start recognizing gay marriage, Nate Silver pulled together this nicely color-coded chart showing the growing number of people live in jurisdictions where gay people can wed, and which countries are contributing to the effort. That spike in 2008 represents California's head-fake, where the courts decided we should recognize gay marriage and then Proposition 8 decided otherwise.
