Project: Create a Local's Guide to Your City

by Tom Carbone

June 15, 2011

Ever arrived in a new city stoked to check out the local culture and ended up sucked into a tourist trap of souvenir shops or, worse, ordering a Big Mac at McDonald's? This summer, help out visitors to your city by creating a one-of-a-kind, locals-approved guide to what you think is worth seeing while they’re in town. Draw a map, take photos—get creative! Then share it with the GOOD community. Maybe you’ll find a guide to your vacation destination while you’re at it!

Create a guide for your city highlighting the best your community has to offer.

Your guide has to fit on a standard page. Upload your submission here. We’ll accept submissions through Sunday, July 3. Afterwards we will post a collection of our favorite submissions and ask you, the GOOD community, to vote. The winning entry will be announced on, featured on our homepage, and printed in the next issue of GOOD. We’ll also send a GOOD T-shirt and a free subscription (or gift subscription) to the winner.
