The latest late-night-TV saga appears to be over: Jay Leno will return to his old time slot, and Conan O’Brien will leave the network. But not before he collects a severance package that has been reported as anywhere from $32 to $45 million. That’s right, 45 million dollars.O’Brien was already making between $10 and $20 million a year. He is not going to improve his standard of living in any real way with a few extra tens of millions of dollars. Maybe he can buy an extra house in Aspen or fly on nicer private jets, but he would still have a lot left over. He certainly doesn’t need any more money. So, Conan. Perhaps you’ve heard there was just a massive earthquake in Haiti? And that’s just one of the many problems in the world a large cash infusion could help. Gisele Bundchen gave $1.5 million. How about you beat that? How about you blow it out of the water?A lot of people were with you, Coco. Give something back.

Why mass shootings spawn conspiracy theories
Mass shootings and conspiracy theories have a long history.
While conspiracy theories are not limited to any topic, there is one type of event that seems particularly likely to spark them: mass shootings, typically defined as attacks in which a shooter kills at least four other people.
When one person kills many others in a single incident, particularly when it seems random, people naturally seek out answers for why the tragedy happened. After all, if a mass shooting is random, anyone can be a target.
Pointing to some nefarious plan by a powerful group – such as the government – can be more comforting than the idea that the attack was the result of a disturbed or mentally ill individual who obtained a firearm legally.
