Over time, they have taken on more of a role for serving yuppies. Anyhow, my point is that I, or anyone else, can get more calories at McDonald’s for $1 than just about anywhere else. In the next ten years, it will be interesting to see how this infrastructure and efficiency can be used for healthier food.

Cool project, and those kids are impressive. In the video I like the part when everyone jumps into the water — kind of like the scene in Caddyshack. Seems like a lot of fun. And the flowers look great from the sky.

Wow, was surprised by these comments. I appreciated what Barneys did, though of course that by itself will not save the world. What single action will? Yes, it was a recycling program. Yes, we are in a down market, but I thought this program was a creative way to encourage recycling and thoughtful consumption at the same time.
That is an amazing piece, Carol.I was struck a while back in meeting Roseanne Haggerty of Common Ground and reading Malcolm Gladwell’s article, Million-Dollar Murray, about the tremendous cost of a chronically homeless person, and that problems like homelessness can be cheaper to solve than to manage, but I had not so clearly seen the positive side of this type of analysis around the Talent Dividend, and wow, that is a strong endorsement for dealing with education. I vote for Los Angeles to be the first and to win.Carol, where can we see the list of the 16 cities moving in the right direction?
Totally agree. Not sure how effective a CD would be, but totally think this makes sense. We’ve made a couple of educational videos on water that are on youtube, such as this one. Here is an infographic on personal water use.
Unbelievable — that video clip is very amusing. Town hall meetings are a wonderful thing — eager for the conversation to move past the non sense and into the nuts and bolts.
