At 8 feet 5.5 inches, Leonid Stadnyk has officially been named the World's Tallest Man by the Guinness Book of World Records. It's amazing, to be sure, but also a bit tragic. Back in 2004, Stadnyk, then 33, told USA Today:

"My two-year-old suit's sleeves and pants are now 30 centimeters (12 inches) shorter than I need...My height is God's punishment. My life has no sense."

Let's just hope his nifty new superlative will turn that giant frown upside down.
