The Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012. What kind of international agreement we replace it with is the subject of this week's United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which kicked off in Poznan, Poland, yesterday.Worldchanging provides a good primer on the event, answering questions like "Why does it matter?", "What issues are on the table?", and "Will America not be ridiculous this time?"On that point, Grist reports that, while Bush's representatives are the ones at the talks, "the election of Barack Obama has injected new hope into the global climate negotiations."(Photo of Poznan from Flickr user Logofag)
