Today is Le Quatorze Juillet, the French Fête Nationale, which celebrates and remembers the 1789 storming of the Bastille the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, a celebration of national stability and unity held on the first anniversary of the 1789 storming of the Bastille at the outset of the French Revolution-take that, monarchy!
