Italy's Prime Minister Romano Prodi lost a confidence vote today, dooming his government. The country may go back to former Prime Minister Berlusconi. Prodi's opposition was popping champagne at the vote like they were at the 2006 World Cup.
This reinforces two things that have been clear for a while: Italy faces some serious political problems, and the U.S. has the most boring legislative body around. Could we at least heckle like they do in the House of Commons?
UPDATE: More remarkable pictures of the fracas/celebration/prosciutto extravaganza at the bottom of this post (in Italian).
