Millions of explosives still occupy space underneath parts of Angola, which, until 2002, was embroiled in nearly three decades of civil war. To this day, many innocent people get killed or injured because of encounters with mines. But the country's de-mining commission is hoping to reduce that. As a celebration of Angola's resilient and beautiful people, on April 2 it will hold the "Miss Landmine Survivor" pageant--comprised of contestants who have been maimed by mines. Link.
