Each month, we challenge our community to do something that will improve the world around us—and our own lives. September's challenge? To connect.
Lend someone a book.
Sometimes the best part of lending a book is not getting it back. I'm hustling to finish A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan so that I can lend it to my friend Ben by the end of the day. It's been a great book to get me through bus rides this week, and an easy one to transition in and out of since I don't have the time for long stretches of leisurely reading.

But I can't remember the last time I lent a book and actually remembered to ask the borrower for it back. I prefer to let books float around, from person to person. So Ben, if you're reading this, consider the book yours. Just be sure to lend it out to someone else.
