Yesterday was, of course, Earth Day, which was celebrated around the country. In New York City, it also marked Mayor Bloomberg announcing his plans to make New York more sustainable by 2030 (he will no longer be in office, and possibly be dead, but no matter). The plan calls for a number of changes to the city, the most drastic of which is congestion pricing, wherein cars will be charged a toll to drive through the center of the city. You can read more about congestion pricing from the fourth issue of GOOD here. Best of luck getting this all done, Mr. Mayor.
