We're well aware of where some pop icons stand when it comes to the presidential candidates (the "Paris Hilton factor"), and now, we also know where our candidates stand on the issue of fave pop icons.

Obama and McCain recently compared notes on pop culture, both agreeing that Batman is the most excellent superhero, but for divergent and respectively telling reasons. We also learn that McCain cried watching Bambi in 1942 and likes Curb Your Enthusiasm, while Obama digs Sheryl Crow, and hasn't seen a movie in the theaters since Shrek the Third.

Why is this relevant? 1) Important to be reminded that our candidates are human beings, 2) anthropologically fascinating how great an impact The Dark Knight has had on our socio-political conscious, 3) it's fun imagining McCain bumping Usher.
