Roger Ailes Tells Fox Anchors to Tone It Down

Roger Ailes speaks! The president of Fox News says he told his anchors and entertainers to "shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually."

For some reason, Roger Ailes, the president of Fox News, decided to reflect on the Arizona shootings in an exclusive interview with hip-hop mogul and Phat Farm founder Russell Simmons.

Ailes told Simmons that he has directed Fox News anchors to restrain themselves a bit in light of last weekend's events.

I told all of our guys, shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually. You don’t have to do it with bombast. I hope the other side does that. Listen, I have a picture of Sarah Palin hanging from the end of a rope. They made a doll up like her and hung her.

Hear that Amy Goodman? Those Palin effigies are totally uncool. Fox will stop it if you will.
