Social Media Blackout

No Facebook. No Twitter. Just face-to-face, honest-to-goodness human interaction.

NPR reports that Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Pennsylvania will block campus computers from accessing social media sites for the duration of the week.

Provost Eric Darr wants them to consider the following: "Often there are behaviors, habits, ways we use technology that we may ourselves not even be able to articulate because we're not aware of them."

At week's end, students will be asked to write reflective essays on what the experience was like.

Would you be willing to participate in such an experiment? A whole week. No cheating. Or is this too extreme and artificial a scenario?
