Over at World Changing, they discuss a report about using tidal power (hydrokinetics is the two dollar word) to help solve energy problems. These oft overlooked machines use either the waves or the rising and falling tides to generate energy. They don't stop on calm or cloudy days (like, say, wind or solar power), and unlike wind farms, are for the most part hidden underwater.
