It looks like an asphalt road, but it's not. It's a river of fish carcasses created, some worry, by the BP oil spill.

This isn't an asphalt road. It's a massive "fish kill" in a waterway in coastal Louisiana. Many different species—including fish, crabs, and eels—have suddenly died, due to some as-yet-unknown change in the environment.
Whether or not it's related to the BP spill is, apparently, a matter of honest debate.
