The events of the past week capture both the absolute strangeness of our modern obsession with celebrity in an age of ceaselessly increasing information exchange AND our tremendous collective capacity for emotional outpouring. But amid the wreckage of a week that saw the passing of pop royalty, a near revolution on the other side of the planet, and a frenzy over the deteriorating state of health care in this country, we also got one step closer to passing monumental piece of climate legislation.
