Raleigh, North Carolina high school history teacher Charles Montague, along with his students, are helping to preserve blues music in the hilly Piedmont region of that state. They call the program "SOOTS," and with the help of a Pepsi Refresh grant, they are collapsing historic cultural divides and keeping musicians like George Higgs strumming to fresh ears.
