Just a quick update: The awesome BigBelly Solar Trash Recepticles (which we wrote about earlier here) are sweeping the nation! Now Philly is planning to install 500 of them by July.The BigBellies use solar power to compact trash on-site so it doesn't have to be picked up as often. The company estimates they'll save Philadelphia about $13 million over 10 years.Via Inhabitat.
