In the video below, Representative Alan Grayson, a Democrat from Florida, introduces the "War Is Making You Poor Act." It limits spending on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to $549 billion, saving $159 billion. Those savings go to a tax waiver on up to $35,000 in income for every American and paying down the national debt.

I'm not a huge fan of giving bills these rhetorically loaded names, but it's true, we spend a ludicrous amount on defense, and a lot of people don't link that with their tax burden or the national debt.
