China is pushing to drastically overhaul their automobile fleet, replacing it with electric cars. Or at least that's what they're saying. If the way in which China and India continue to grow into more and more developed and industrialized nations is what is going to determine the fate of climate change and our planet, signs like this (unlike the car that might destroy the world), are really good steps. Some good things about China's electric car push: Many people in China are still buying their first cars-they have fewer preconceptions about what a car should be than Americans, and might be more easily persuaded to go electric. Also, the Chinese government is offering fairly massive subsidies for drivers of electric cars, and make a large difference in gas costs for drivers trying to navigate China's clogged urban centers. The BYD electric car is coming here from China, hopefully China will take it upon themselves to fill their streets with electric cars as well.Image via.
