Day 14: Document a Friend #30DaysofGOOD

Get your cameras ready. For November's challenge, we're asking you to document your life, from the highlight of your day to your favorite shoes.

Welcome to The GOOD 30-Day Challenge (#30DaysofGOOD). Each month, we challenge ourselves to improve the world around us—and our own lives. The challenge for November? To document your life. In an effort to help us all rise to the occasion, each morning, we will post a daily mini-challenge on GOOD.is and Twitter, along with a testimonial from someone on the GOOD team who's already completed it. We invite you to complete all 30 mini-challenges and share them with us on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.

Today's challenge: Document a friend. Above, Jack Lyon submits an image of his friend Jacqueline.

This is Jacqueline, looking way more serious than usual. She was thinking about making dinner and was totally lost in thought.

We were really close friends, but fell out of touch about five years ago, for no other reason than that she lived in L.A., I lived in San Francisco, and we were both really busy. She got married and had an amazing kid and I got preoccupied with my own shenanigans. Six months ago, I moved to L.A., and she and I met up after not really talking for years.

So much had happened since we last saw one another, but after just a few seconds of awkwardness, we were right back to where we left off, as if no time had passed. It reminded me that you’re always tight with your true friends, whether it’s been a few days or several years since the last time you talked.

See submissions from yesterday's challenge, document hopefulness.

Tomorrow's challenge: Document your commute.

Ready, set, go take a picture! Good luck completing today's challenge. Once you've snapped a shot, be sure to share it with us on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook by using the hashtag #30DaysofGOOD. We will then post a roundup of your images the next day.
