GOOD Video: Establishing a College-Going Tradition

[youtube]

This content was produced by GOOD with support of Apollo Group

Every year, thousands of students enter college as first-time freshmen and, for many, it's more than just a once-in-a-lifetime moment for them—it's also a monumental landmark for their family, especially for those who are first in their family to attend college.

First Graduate is a San Francisco-based program specially created to support these first generation college-bound students. The program starts in sixth grade and creates a support network for students over the course of ten or more years as they work to successfully graduate college. Executive Director Tom Ahn believes an educated citizenry benefits us all, making it in everyone's best interest to ensure all kids are receiving a solid educational foundation for lifelong success.

Watch how First Graduate supports students as they journey from middle school to college and beyond.

This is the last of six videos in the Teaching for Tomorrow series, which explores learning approaches that best prepare students for the workforce of the 21st century.

Presented by Apollo Group, Teaching for Tomorrow explores education, innovation and technology in schools through original videos and infographics.
