Jeffery Eugenides, who wrote The Virgin Suicides and Middlesex, has collected an anthology of 26 love stories called My Mistress's Sparrow Is Dead. It includes authors ranging from Faulkner and Joyce to Miranda July. We'd trust his curatorial judgment. Even lovier: all proceeds from the book go to the 826 Chicago youth writing programs.
