We just got wind of this one: Zilok is a new site that facilitates peer to peer renting. The idea behind it is, essentially, that everyone could benefit from what the people in your local environment already own. Sure, it's basically communism. But it's grassroots communism--and the soft pink accents of the site's logo pretty well mitigate the harsher authoritarian red with which we so often associate the term.
