This is the trailer for a movie that played in theaters in 2015, and is available now for streaming—The True Cost.
What’s it about? Where and how clothing is made now, especially as compared with the way the industry used to be. “Fast fashion” has created a world where we consume 80 billion pieces of clothing a year.
And it’s about producing those articles of clothing with little or no regard for the workers or the environment.
After understanding the problem, the filmmakers wanted to know how we got here and how to change things so that the model isn’t so destructive.
This movie chronicles what they discovered.
