There is a new bottled water, Biota, the very bottle of which is bio-degradable. It's made out of corn. Not plastic. Corn. And it's not even yellow. Science is doing amazing things these days. Biota is available only in select states. Treehugger notes with some excitement the addition of certain Florida supermarkets to the growing list of Biota suppliers. Florida, at first glance, does not necessarily seem like a burgeoning market for biodegradable materials. Then again, they probably litter more there than places where everyone would recycle their bio-degradable bottles without thinking twice.
