Three republicans helped make the stimulus bill a reality, before it was totally revised, but not after we took a detailed look at the first one. We found out that the Vélib' bike sharing program in Paris was in trouble, except not really. Charles Darwin celebrated his 200th birthday (as did Abraham Lincoln, though we apparently made no mention of that), and we wondered aloud if public transportation should be free. We also ran a poorly received experiment, in two parts.Photo by Flickr user Craig Axxie.
