The Unofficial Apple Weblog has a sneak peek of CourseNotesApp, one of the new apps designed specifically for the Apple iPad-which will make it more than just "a gigantic iPod Touch." (Well, just barely more.)

Among the features included in the academically centered, note-taking app will be the ability to share notes over WiFi or Bluetooth, allowing students to better collaborate. In future iterations, the developers are planning to add a dictation feature and a drawing module. The app will cost $4.99 and will be available when the iPad debuts this Saturday.

It's not the education revolution I once imagined Apple sparking with its tablet, but it's a start. Here's a video that shows CourseNotesApp in action:
