The fine folks at AIA Columbus have big dreams for the nation's 8th best big city to inhabit. But in order for the capital of Ohio to move up in the rankings, it's got some public transit work to do. Like many areas across the country, Columbus (quite literally) got derailed during the auto-boom of the postwar period. Now the largest city in the United States without a significant public transit system, Columbus needs help. Enter Columbus Re-Wired. Really, enter it; it's a design competition intended to strengthen transportation and infrastructure in the city. And it's awesome.
