A truly inspiring story.
At this year’s ESPY Awards, the show runners decided to set aside a fifteen-minute segment to shift the focus from the athletes we treat like heroes to a person who truly embodies the word. Cincinnati Bengals player Devon Still has a 5-year-old daughter, and last year she was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, life has been a struggle for Devon, and an all out battle for his daughter. The ESPYs created a short video about Still’s story and aired it at the awards ceremony. However, it was the speech he gave afterwards that truly captured the emotional weight of his family’s experience.
