Frenchman Rides Solar Electric Bike from France to Japan

The remarkable 6,000-mile journey should make us reconsider our approach to personal transportation.

Most of us prefer cars when traveling farther than across town. Meanwhile, a Frenchman named Florian Bailly has ridden a solar electric bicycle from France to Japan, traveling through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. How he made it from China to Japan is a bit unclear. Regardless, the 6,000-mile journey, on an electric bicycle towing a flat solar panel, is fairly remarkable. He's currently on his way back to France and creating a film about his adventures.
