It's a strange world we live in where the loss of nearly one and a half billion dollars is heralded as positive business news, but here we are. Ford has lost only $1.4 billion, and has money to survive the year.It will be interesting to see how Ford, which has taken no money from the government, comes out of this next difficult year differently than GM, which is currently on the verge of being taken into bankruptcy by the government. Both companies need to change drastically. GM is going to be forced to do it the way the Obama administration and Congress thinks is best; Ford is going to it the way they want to do it. The real shame is that the worse off company is also the one with the potentially game-changing electric car, which better hit the market next year as promised, regardless of whether or not it has GM's name on it.
