I recently heard a story from a doctor about a patient with TB who was working at the sushi counter of a large chain grocery store. This gave me some pause about buying any food handled by other people, especially raw fish.
The folks at the Awl have come up with a great graphic that sheds some (humorous) light on who comes to work despite being sick enough to infect people. You'll note that all Americans who tend salad bars insist on coming to work:
