How Can We Rethink L.A.'s Education?

Based on a series of workshops, we assembled a list of best practices for rethinking L.A.'s education to ensure that all kids are ready for college.

Earlier this fall, we held a series of events at our headquarters in Los Angeles to ensure that all kids are on track to receive the 21st century education they deserve.

We gathered together for a three-part series of workshops (each captured in video), where we asked the city's leading education reformers to weigh in on how focusing on areas such as creativity, content, and expectations might provide a roadmap to ensure that all kids are not only prepared for college, but prepared for life. We also held a screening of Waiting for Superman, followed by a discussion between documentarian, Davis Guggenheim, and GOOD's CEO and co-founder, Ben Goldhirsh.

From there, we compiled a list of best practices for rethinking L.A.'s education, keeping in mind that solutions exist and that outcomes are critical. We hope you will not only check it out, but weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section, below.

In partnership with University of Phoenix, GOOD has launched good.is/education—an online platform for thought and action around education. Our goal is to create a vibrant discussion about these topics online, in print, and in the real world.
