One Small Town’s Hilariously Ingenious Revenge on Public Urinators

“It’s peeback time” for public urinators.

In the St. Pauli quarter of Hamburg, Germany, local residents decided to take action against the flood of public urination in their streets. Hamburg is famous for its bustling nightlife and the people who call it home don’t want to stop tourists and everyone else from having a good time, they just want them to use a bathroom when they have to pee. To fight back, community organizers, using a superhydrophobic coating that repels liquid, have targeted the walls in alleys and other areas where most of the offenses occur, so that anyone who sprays that wall will instantly be sprayed back. One local woman warned, “it’s peeback time” for anyone who chooses to use a wall as a toliet.
