Ride Along With a Navajo Nation Community Health Worker

Marie Begay is a community health worker in Navajo Nation, which spans Arizona and New Mexico. Each week, she visits roughly 25 members of her community to check up on their health.

Begay makes sure her clients are taking their medication and helps them manage their health concerns.

"I was born and raised in this community, so I work with my own relatives and my own community," she said. "It's a lot easier because you know everybody and everybody knows you."

Begay's work is supported by Partners in Health, an organization that promoted health access in underserved communities.
