Slovenian Artist Uses Plastic Bags and Cups for City-wide Art Installation

Made from more than 40,000 plastic bags and 7,500 plastic cups, this monster winds its way through the streets of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In Solvenia, a man going by the name of The Miha Artnak has assembled more than 40,000 plastic bags and 7,500 plastic cups in a piece of installation work that snakes throughout the city. From the artist:

“It symbolizes the spreading of the consumerism and waste segregation. The monster itself has adjusted to the environment and therefore survived. It is supplanting us from the food chain. It just might succeed and it’s all up to us. It is reproducing with inconceivable speed and knows no mercy. It feeds on individuals’ sloth and irresponsibility.”
