It didn't take long, and it comes as no grand surprise, but New York Governor Eliot Spitzer resigned today, on the heels of revelations about his connection to a high-class prostitution ring. Lieutenant Governor David A. Paterson (who we first heard of on Monday) will immediately assume the post, making him both the first black governor of New York and the first blind governor (did we mention that Paterson is legally blind?) in the nation.
