Gender-based street harassment is a despicable feature of daily life for millions of women. This doesn't often get talked about in our society, but Tatyana Fazlalizadeh started a project to change that. Stop Telling Women To Smile addresses this by wheatpasting portraits of women on walls. Beneath the image are captions provided by the women, to speak directly to offenders in public space.
As one of the subjects puts it: "I am not here for you, that's not what my existence is about."
