Tomorrow Will Be the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Last Day in Print
As you've probably heard, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, one of our nation's venerable old broadsheets, will publish its last print issue tomorrow. From then on, it'll be a web-only publication. It's the largest American newspaper to go.But this isn't just a change in the medium of delivery; the product is changing too. The staff is being reduced from about 165 to 20, and the surviving online incarnation, seattlepi.com, will focus less on original reporting and more on photo galleries, commentary, and breaking news.So this'll be a real, if small, drop in the aggregate supply of quality, reported news in the world.
