This content is brought to you by Microsoft

Around the world, young people are making change happen. Whether it’s as a volunteer, a community organizer or a social entrepreneur, young people everywhere have the ideas and passion to make a difference in their communities and the world. Watch the video above to learn about Christina and Rebecca–two inspiring young change-makers who’ve taken their ideas for social change from concept to reality.

Microsoft believes in the power of young people to spark the creation of a better world. That’s why they’re introducing the YouthSpark Challenge for Change–to help some of the new generation of change-makers bring their ideas to life.

Microsoft is looking for students who have ideas for social change. Big or small, local or global, untested or underway they want young people to share their ideas for the chance to win awesome prizes, including a life-changing volunteer trip to Kenya, funding to help to bring their ideas to life and cool technology.

U.S. residents aged 18 to 25 are invited to share their ideas from May 1 to 24 in the YouthSpark Challenge for Change. Judges will select 20 finalists who will receive a Microsoft Surface RT to create a video further detailing their idea. Five grand prize winners, determined by public vote, will receive:

  • An all-expense paid volunteer trip to Kenya
  • $2,500 to help them pursue their ideas
  • A Microsoft technology bundle including a Windows Phone 8 and Xbox 360 with Kinect
  • The opportunity to serve as a Microsoft YouthSpark ambassador for the year and take advantage of training and other opportunities
