YouTube Tries to Teach Kids About Copyright Law

YouTube is trying educate kids about fair use and copyright infringement so they stop uploading all those Taylor Momsen concert clips.

Schools have long taught students about the evils of plagiarism, but with the growing prominence of social media—both in and out of the classroom—it's not a bad idea to get kids up to speed on copyright law, too. YouTube's new Copyright School teaches the nuts and bolts of what constitutes fair use and copyright infringement. It's an undeniably engaging video—and a substantive one as well. It might even get some kids thinking about the subtleties and corner cases of copyright law.
