Bikes: Now with More Threat to Your Personal Freedoms

The Denver Post reports on yet another indicator of big government's blatant disregard for civil liberties: bikes. Gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes warns that city efforts to promote bike-riding pose threats to our personal freedoms. Although Maes once regarded bikes as beneficial for public and environmental health, he now claims that Mayor John Hickenlooper's support for initiatives like the B-Cycle bike-sharing program are part of a "well-disguised" mayoral conspiracy to turn Denver into a "United Nations community."

Now I know what you're going to say: The United States is already a member of the United Nations, so what, pray tell, is a U.N. community? I'll tell you: It's two periods away from an "uncommunity," which is just about the saddest place you could possibly live.
